Leicester City could recall Harvey Barnes from his loan at West Brom this month, as per a report by Birmingham Live.

The 21-year-old has impressed with the Baggies in this campaign, scoring nine goals and gaining eight assists so far.

However, West Brom may be dealt a blow with Leicester considering bringing him back to the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes’ boss, Claude Puel, has said: “It’s a possibility, if he has to come back it will be to compete here with other players and have game time also”.

“He is a player from the academy with good attributes and qualities. I appreciate the character from him in the first half of the season. He showed a good clinical edge, and we’ve had a problem with this. We have to look at the balance in our squad and look at the positives and negatives about him coming back”.

Barnes joined Leicester at the age of nine and rose through their youth ranks. He made his debut for their first-team in December 2016 in a Champions League fixture against FC Porto and has since played five more times.

The tricky winger has gained more senior experience during loan spells at MK Dons, Barnsley and now West Brom.

He has established himself as a key player for Darren Moore’s side this season and their promotion chances will be dealt a major blow if he is recalled by Leicester in this transfer window.
