Hull City want to speak to Doncaster Rovers boss Grant McCann over their managerial vacancy.
The Tigers are interested in bringing the 39-year-old to the KCOM Stadium, according to a report by Hull Live.
Hull are in the hunt for a replacement for Nigel Adkins, who left the club last week. They have sounded out McCann as a potential replacement and it is believed he is open to talking to the Championship side.
McCann had an impressive first season at the helm of Doncaster Rovers in the last campaign and got them into the League One Play-Offs under a tight budget.
Prior to his move to the Keepmoat Stadium, he got his first taste of management at Peterborough United. His Posh side finished 11th in League One in his first campaign at the club but he was sacked in February 2018.
The former Northern Ireland international spent time at Hull’s training ground with Nigel Adkins in March last year so already has a taste of the club.
It would be a surprise to see him leave Doncaster this summer especially with the long-term plan he has put in place there. However, the opportunity to manage Hull, an ex-Premier League club, may be too good to turn down.
Other candidates for the Tigers’ job are Michael Appleton, Paul Heckingbottom and Sol Campbell.
